Danish Active House Alliance to be launched on 29 October 2014
On 29 October, a new national chapter in Denmark arising from the international Active House Alliance will be launched during the national conference Building Green. The Danish Active House Association is planning to establish a new, easily accessible classification with a special focus on small and medium-sized buildings.
The objective is to implement the Active House vision and principles in the Danish construction industry and to get the related specific knowhow spread through dedicated trainings and regular exchange of knowledge all over the country. More specifically, the Alliance will work on establishing a new sustainability rating which evaluates a given building on the basis of three main parameters: Comfort, Energy, and Environment. This will equally help promote and demonstrate the endless opportunities laying in Active House solutions.
Active House solutions are based on a holistic approach regarding building design both in new construction and in renovation and the vision defines ambitious and long-term goals for future building stock and high standards for small and medium-sized buildings.
The funding partners of the new Danish chapter includes members of the international alliance Teknologisk Institut, Esbensen Ingeniører, Cenergia, VELUX Danmark A/S, Saint Gobain Nordic A/S as well as the companies Kuben Management, AART Architects A/S
The partners are optimistic that the membership of the new national alliance will be attractive for forward-looking companies in the Danish contraction and building sector and that the collaboration between members will be fruitful, which will lead to a more sustainable built environment in Denmark.
