Nicholas Varias lives in Burlington and works in Oakville, Ontario. He is an innovative architect, urbanist, artist and writer; an outspoken advocate for the natural environment, new urbanism, sustainable development, barrier-free design and clean transportation.
In 1996, Nicholas has won the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation's FlexHousing Design Competition, and a model unit of his design was built at the Canadian Centre for Housing Technology in Ottawa.
In order to make his views known to the world, in 2013 Nicholas has published his first book, Brainstorming for a Beautiful Planet.
As President of Flexsola International, Nicholas is currently promoting Flexsola™, an innovative modular building system, which could greatly contribute to sustainable development.
Nicholas is a passionate chess player and nature lover, likes the arts, jazz and classical music. In addition to English, Nicholas also speaks French, Romanian and Hungarian. |
