Bio: EMILIA-CERNA MLADIN University professor at POLITEHNICA of Bucharest (UPB), President of the Romanian Association of Energy Auditors for Buildings (AAECR) Prof. Mladin works on energy in buildings since 1996, first at UNESCO Chair Of Engineering Sciences, then in the professional association AAECR for which she was co-founder in 2004. She wrore manuals and professional books on energy efficiency in buildings, trained many generations of currently certified energy auditors for buildings, coordinated national and international projects, performed energy certificates and audits on various types of buildings, such as houses, blocks, commercial malls, schools, kindergartens, university buildings, health buildings, offices, sport facilities, local and central administration buildings. Since 2011, she is member in the Board of Directors of the International Alliance of Active House. Prof. Mladin is member in the Energy Performance in Buildings Technical Committes of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration (MDRAP), being thus involved in the development of legal documents, as well as transposition of European Directives into the national legislation. She was also involved in international teams (United Nations Development Program, Leonardo da Vinci and Jaspers of European Commission) for analysis of current building stock in Romania and involved in the development of the future national energy efficiency strategy for buildings. Last but not least, prof. Mladin organized the international Congress of Sustainable Energy in Buildings and Urban Areas (SEBUA 2012) through the International Centre of Heat and Mass Transfer (ICHMT) and was invited speaker at many events related to energy in buildings.
