ACTIVE HOUSE ALLIANCE CANADA LAUNCHED
Active House Alliance launched its Canadian chapter on 18 September in Toronto. The launch ceremony was attended by HRH the Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark and the Minister of Trade in Denmark, Mogens Jensen. In addition to the signatories of the Alliance Charter: Great Gulf, Roxul Inc., VELUX Canada and Dr. John Straube of the University of Waterloo, the launch ceremony was attended by a business delegation of companies, architects and academia.
The establishment of the Canadian Active House Alliance is an important step towards the development of Active House projects in Canada and North America. It will be able to give local answers to the global challenges of sustainability though tailor made solutions based on the Active House principles, which will create healthy and comfortable buildings adapted to the needs of Canadian users without causing negative impact on the environment.
In a Press Release, the Active House Alliance wholeheartedly welcomed the new Canadian Active House Alliance’s strong commitment to healthier homes based on a holistic approach.
